You, the World, and God

The Lord chose you; you did not choose the Lord.

Why did he choose you? He saw in your heart what he needed to be able to do his work. Because of this, He will fill you with His Holy Spirit when you ask Him.

Having the Holy Spirit provides you with the means to "see" God's Plan and to be able to read God's Word and make sense of it. As it says in the scriptures, “Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his {Rom 8:9}”. Through the in-filling of the Holy Spirit we can then begin to understand where we fit into the world around us and into what God has planned for us.

Now, the Earth is Creation; the World was created by Man.

We are in God's Creation (the Earth and Universe, etc.) and we are in the World that was created by our upbringing, the society we live in and the circumstances we have created within this framework of Man's World.

Each of us has a different "world" created by ourselves as each of us has had a different upbringing in a different place and our lives have gone on under differing circumstances so each is very different for the other. There is little consistency between our lives apart from possibly location, custom, and language. Each of us is "worlds-apart" from each other even if we live in the same house!

Using the spirit we can now differentiate between God's Reality and Man's so-called reality/world.

Using the Holy Spirit we can see what is real (of God) and what is artificial (of Man/World). Even though the world of ours has hard physical and mental consequences for actions taken in it, they are in fact immaterial to the reality of God; this is what confounds mankind - this difference between itself (Man; what it calls real) and what it calls fiction of God (belief in God). A monk, or a nun, tries to accomplish this separation from the world by isolating themselves in a monastery or convent. This type of separation is not for everyone, but it doesn't mean that God leaves us to fend for ourselves for He says, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you {John 4:18}", and "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee {Heb 13:5}". I have, and many others have, found this to be true.

As we develop our vision of God and His Plan (we “walk by faith” {2 Cor 5:7} not by natural sight/understanding), the things that matter most to us change; away from the things of this world and we begin to concentrate on the things of God. That which had meaning to us in the natural has lesser meaning now than those things we now have in God.

By knowing and understanding this relationship between ourselves and God and putting the world in its correct place in that relationship we are empowered to withstand whatever situations our “world” presents to us. This is not airy-fairy stuff. This is real and I can personally testify of this working in my life and I’m happy to discuss it with anyone willing to listen with an open mind.

God's plan layed out

God's Plan is not laid out like a project plan for the construction of a building. It is a framework in which we live. This framework has been in existence since the Big Bang and still holds true today as it will tomorrow.

We all exist within this framework; everything does. If you follow the framework physically you will continue to exist; eating food, drinking water, etc. are just a few of the physical attributes of the framework. The more you think about it, the more of these attributes you will come up with. But, there is more than the physical to the framework. The physical aspect, although very important, is the minor part. The major part of the framework is the spiritual aspect. Without the spiritual aspect the physical is of no use; we would be as a rock in the middle of the desert without it.

You NEED to know God. The more you know of God, the clearer His framework becomes and the easier your life will become. I have been to the depths of life and depression and despair; I've been there and I can truly say that it was knowing God that saved me and brought me back. Not just an appreciation of God as many people have but a real in-depth knowing of God. You can get this deep knowing of God by reading His Word, the Holy Bible, and, more importantly, by receiving His Holy Spirit which will unlock His Word to you.

John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Acts 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent (put away preconceived ideas and come with an open mind), and be baptized (by full immersion which is what baptize means) every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (with evidence).

The Bible documents a "sign" that is given to people who have received the Holy Ghost; this is a prayer language by which you can place your petitions directly before God. You can read all about this evidence in the Book of Acts in the New Testament. Enjoy :)

Time was short but that was always the case. Things that should have happened didn't and things that I had no ideas could happen did; much to the annoyance of all. But, God willing we shall get through and if we hold favour we may even see a prosperous end. All in all and with due consideration of every little thing it could be worse. As God knows there are others in worse situations and in even more dire life-threatening places. He has blessed me and continues to be doing so, for I give Him great praise and will continue do.

I started to write this as a fictional aside but have concluded with a factual account of the Lord's provision; what may read as fictional is in fact true; the Lord has blessed me and continues to do so. I am forever in debt to the Lord for His grace in filling me with His Holy Spirit and through that in-filling, I am content knowing that He is always all ways here with me.

I am CHOSEN OF GOD; HE chose ME: I did not choose Him.

I am CHOSEN OF GOD; HE chose ME: I did not choose Him.
Before being aware of God, I was just another person living their life with ups and downs and with no real direction or purpose. I had considered the age-old questions of "why am I here?" and " what's the purpose of it all?", but could not get any answers that really meant anything long-term.

After being made aware of God and His direction in the Bible to be baptised by full immersion and that I would be filled with the Holy Ghost, I decided to give it a try; that was 23 years ago and I have never regretted being filled with His Holy Spirit as detailed in Act 2, and I received the confirmation of that in-filling as spoken of in Acts 2:38. This proof being the ability to speak in tongues as provided by the Holy Spirit.

With the receiving of the Holy Spirit I now realise that the scriptutes in the Holy Bible are written to those like me; Spirit Filled people, and that the meaning behind the scriptures is revealed through the Holy Spirt as stated in John 14:26  "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have said unto you."

And so I came to realise that I didn't chose God, He chose me!
John 15:16  You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

1 Peter 2:9  But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

This is a great thing; that God saw in me a potential that was worth taking and developing and all I had to do was humble myself to ask Him for it. The Lord can see into your heart; you cannot lie to God. If you truely seek Him, and humble yourself before God (not a man or some one dressed in robes and finery), He will hear you plee. Man cannot save you but God can through Jesus the Christ.

Romans 10: 2-4

Romans 10:
2  For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3  For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Zeal::earnestness or fervour in advancing a cause or rendering a service; hearty and persistent endeavour

Some people are out there working very hard for God but there are not doing it the right way;not according to God’s Word. In their efforts to “do the right thing” they are in affect trying to lift themselves (their own righteousness) rather than submitting themselves to God’s Word and His Righteousness so that they are doing it the right way.

Jesus Christ shows us the way/law of righteousness. If we believe in Christ, if the KNOW Christ, then the righteousness of Christ has a way of coming through us.

But we ourselves need to ensure that that way is clear for the righteousness to come through. We cannot let the world establish itself within us to the point where that righteousness of Christ (God’s Righteousness) is inhibited by our own “righteousness”.

For this “clearing of the way” to happen we need to repent daily. We need to re-evaluate our position/thinking and adjust it back to God’s Plan/Thinking/Way/Word so that we CAN be righteous in God’s sight. We need to adjust our thinking so that the world does not have pre-eminence over God. We need to adjust our thinking so that we are viewing the world through righteous eyes. We need to adjust our thinking so that the greater is held above the lesser; the greater being our place with God and the lesser being our place in the world for our place in this world does not even come close to compare to our place with God.

No matter what situation that you find yourself, be it big or small, doesn’t compare to your situation or position with God. Our postion with God is everlasting. Our postion in this world is but a very small part of that everlasting life so why give it such prominence?

If you believe God then you KNOW God.
If you KNOW God then you believe God.
The reverse is also true.

Build your knowledge of God so that you KNOW God.

Without me {Jesus} you can do nothing

Jesus said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing." [John 15:5]

If this is true, and I believe it to be so, then it follows that if we try and do anything without Jesus, it will fail in the long run.

Conversely, Paul said to the Philippians, " I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." [Philippians 4:13]

So with Jesus the Christ with us we can accomplish all things.

Therefore, it would stand to reason that it is better to stand with Jesus than to stand alone.

No matter what we are doing we should always do it with Jesus. How do we do it with Jesus? We pray beforehand, "putting to him" in pray, asking for his guidance, direction, and support in doing it. You will see the difference.

We are not bound by the physical limitations of this world

Mark 11:13  And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14  And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
…
Mark 11:20  And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21  And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

We need only believe and that which we ask for shall be provided but ask rightly; not in your own lusts but in the righteousness of the Word.

Don’t let this world deny you
the promises of God.
